The Northern Lights glow green over sea ice.
Proud to be sponsored by @lindbladexp and posting to their gallery all week (photos from many beautiful places await you there!). This photo is from Ilulissat, Greenland just a few weeks ago. There are moments when everything seems to be happening at once. The sun has set, but its glow still warms the sky. Even while the sunlight is fading, the moon begins to rise and add its own hues. The ice glows blue. And there is still plenty of light in the sky when another source appears; beginning behind town and slowly wheeling towards the largest icebergs, the aurora prepares to take over. We’ll be here in September 2017 with the National Geographic Explorer.
