Angus is a farmer, but here’s the catch: he grazes his cows on an island that can only be reached at low tide. Ailsa and I met him on his drive back across a mile of sand flats. He’d been checking on the cows and found a calf had been born during the night.
He’s been grazing cattle on this little island off of North Uist, Outer Hebrides, for 15 years. He recently bought part of the land, including the ruins of a farm and schoolhouse. He has big plans for the island’s future. “I didn’t get to where I am today by sitting on my backside.”
