Another transition and another exquisite landscape to explore. Hello Iceland!

I’ve arrived from Greenland, and #meetthenorth has two weeks to discover this country through the eyes of those who live here.
Iceland sits on the mid-Atlantic ridge and straddles two tectonic plates; to arrive here is to experience the formation of the earth. There are 230,000 people living on this island, and more than half of them are in the capital city of Reykjavik.

Tourism is skyrocketing here, and it’s changing how the world sees Iceland and how Iceland sees itself. My first conversations with Icelanders have revolved around their connection to the land, so that is where this journey will begin. And I won’t be doing it alone. Check out the next post see who I found at a cozy old fishing port.
