For the love of hockey

Ena Mucktar’s love of the Montreal Canadiens runs deep. This portrait, with her son Cash, is from the original hockey photo shoot we did in Pond Inlet, Nunavut. We have now photographed a number of fans, but Ena and Cash were the first. They had imagined photos in their fan gear together for a long time.

The Stanley Cup arrives tomorrow, and you can feel the hockey pride building.

Ena’s Canadiens parka comes from Repulse Bay. Ena traded it with another hockey fan – a woman who is now married to her cousin. Ena made the outer shell of Cash’s parka herself, complete with strips of Canadiens fabric from her son’s old pajamas.

Tomorrow will be a big day here!
