Light shines on

Yoko Ono: Post 2 of 2. Out at the island of Videy, we walk to the Imagine Peace Tower. A local choir is sings until Yoko Ono and Sean Lennon arrive. Yoko says a few words, then calls out “I love you!” A few call back, “We love you!” Then we hear John Lennon’s voice over the loudspeakers singing “Imagine.” We sing along as the light comes on and blazes up into the clouds. The rain creates rainbows between beams of white.

October 9th was John’s birthday. This light will shine on as it does every year until December 8th, the day he died. I came to Iceland for a conference on the Arctic and received lessons in peace and imagination as well.
